Third Time's a Charm Necklace

Another rose gold gift that I love is the Third Time's a Charm Necklace. The mix of gold, silver, rose gold, and hand set pave ball charm is the perfect addition to any wardrobe. The mix of metals and the long layered length at 36 inches is so stylish and chic. I also love the chain. A gold delicate ball chain is not the usual chain you see on a long necklace. Unique and a perfect gift for the holiday season.
At $69, the Third Time's a Charm necklace will be the highlight of your holiday season.

Another reason to shop Stella & Dot for your friends and family this holiday is that the entire collection is so versatile.  Start with a bangle then the next time you want to give your friend or co-worker a gift, you can add to their collection.  Add a charm or a bangle.  They will love the Stella & Dot collections for years to come. DIY Success: Flower Pillow Tutorial

A few months ago before Pinterest took control over my life, I kept a perfectly unorganized bookmark on my browser of all of the D.I.Y projects that I wanted to recreate. (I am a bit of a bookmark hoarder. I also hoard tv shows on my dvr. I am aware of my problem. I just have trouble letting my favorite tv shows go. But- enough about me.) When a friend mentioned needing a pillow to add the finishing touch to her nursery, I knew exactly what project to conquer first.  Below is my first go at a lovely flower pillow that I found on vanessachristenson.com from guest blogger Allison from Cluck Cluck Sew.

I used a plastic cup to trace the two larger circles. (1 from the drinking end and 1 from the base)

I drew a large circle on my fabric and (slowly) began stitching around with the halves of the larger circles.
Making progress and it actually WILL turn out like it's suppose to. Shock! After a few circles in, I started to use the smaller halves of felt from the 2.5" template.
I carefully bunched and positioned the felt pieces with pins before starting the sew them.
Tahdah! The finished project! How did I do? Not bad for a self taught sewer! I call this a pillow tutorial success! Don't you think? One project down, 15,000 to go!

DIY Wedding Card Box

I always look for an excuse to put my crafty pants on so- when my best girlfriend Jen got engaged, I knew that it meant a few wedding crafts were in my future.  Instead of having cards from guests scattered around on her gift table, guests will place them in this super cute gift box.  So here is a little break down of how I made the wedding card gift box for her upcoming nuptials.

All you need is:
  • 2 or 3 cardboard boxes
  • glue gun and glue sticks
  • clear packing tape
  • pen or pencil
  • a box cutter or exacto knife
  • scissors
  • wrapping paper
  • ribbons and other embellishments to jazz up your card box

1. Find 2 or 3 boxes.  Make sure the sizes look well together when stacked.

2. Collect your coordinating wrapping paper, ribbons, paper cut-outs, and other embellishments.  I used the AMAZE wrapping paper from Avie Designs
3. Neatly wrap all of the boxes
4. Using a pen or pencil plan and trace your cut outs.  You will want the cards to fall neatly down into the box so make sure the openings inside the box are large enough.  (I used a large notepad to trace for the largest opening in the bottom box and the top of the middle box.)

5. Using your exact-o knife, carefully cut out your opening.

6. Wrap the raw edges with clear packing tape. Except for the top cut out where the cards will be deposited.

(Just to make sure.. test the top opening is large enough)
7. Once you are happy with the cut outs, glue all of the layers together with your glue gun or glue of choice.  When gluing the bottom and middle box together, I used clothes pins in the inside to help hold the boxes together while glue was setting.

8. Next, decorate to your hearts desire!!  I used several widths of coordinating ribbon, flower punch outs, rhinestones.  How cute are those colors?!

I totally recommend using a strand of pearls to line the seams where the boxes meet and also around the opening of the card slot.

The completed project!!

There you have it! All jazzed up!

Enjoy!

JPG for Target

Now lately, Target has not been on my list of best pals. However, I will overlook the past issues in anticipation of Jean Paul Gautier for Target!

I wasn't sure what to think of those dress, but I knew I wanted to see it in person. I was pleasantly surprised with how the dress fit. It ran a bit big so I probably could have gone a size smaller. It was a tad sheer.. but this was probably the piece our of the entire collection that I could see myself wearing in my everyday life.
Jean Paul Gaultier for Target® Striped Tank Dress - Navy/French Cream
$34.99

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target® Strapless Cloque Dress - Black
$59.99

I was very pleased with the detail and the construction of this dress. Really, really cute. The only thing that was a turn off for me was the nylon material. Like the floral dress below, I don't want my clothes to have a wind-breaker feel.

My local Target didn't have this jacket for me to try. Totally disappointed!
I would love to see pics if anyone was able to snag it.
Jean Paul Gaultier for Target® Stained Leather Jacket - Brown
$199.99

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target® Rolled Collar Floral Dress - Pink
$39.99
I was most disappointed with the material of this dress. I think anyone who buys this piece online is going to be surprised with what they receive in the mail. The dress is made of nylon and has no lining. It is quite sheer, and has the feeling of a windbreaker-plus, it makes a terrible nylon scratching noise when you move around.
I love the floral print, but this was a no-go for me.

These are my dressing room pics:

This is the only piece I left with. I can't wait for the warm weather to arrive!

Got to have Faith!

Okay so I don't watch the Rachel Ray show everyday. But her show did inspire me to post this necklace picture this morning. I noticed the necklace she was wearing on her show this morning and that it looks very similar to a faith necklace that I carry. I haven't seen it in person yet, but I definitely think that it needs to be added to my inventory.

Just in Time for Valentine's Day!

Click the image to view in a new window (gives you a much sharper image) Enjoy!

I have been a consultant for f.a.i.t.h jewelry since shortly after graduating from Texas State University in 2006. This is only a little sample of the jewels that f.a.i.t.h. carries. It has been a really fun way to earn a little extra money. I always get compliments when I am wearing it, and its fun to share it with because f.a.i.t.h isn't as well known as some of the other jewelry companies. Look for more f.a.i.t.h. jewelry updates coming soon!
